Immersed Education

I don’t walk into any scene the same way anymore. My brain literally takes in spaces differently than it did before Anni’s Composition course, and it’s done wonders for my work. When you see things differently, you capture them differently.

I’ve always been more of a literal person and honestly not that creative, but I feel more creatively inspired than I ever have since experiencing this course and I’m truly so grateful. I have also never been more aware of my horizon. It seems like such a simple thing, but when you’re so focused only on the couple, you forget about everything else that it takes to make a technically good photo.

I’ve spent so long focused so heavily on posing that I had forgotten that I don’t have to be a posing robot all the time. I was reminded to focus my energy on real things I care about in my work that actually stand out more than every pose everyone else is also doing.

Here are some of my images from after the course. Here, I was implementing four things I learned! I was able to slow down and wait for the shots instead of rushing them through poses and forgetting to incorporate the amazing landscape.

I never had any formal training or education in photography. I taught myself by researching for hours and hours, and by trial and error over the last six years. This course taught me some basics that I genuinely didn’t know, or had forgotten due to my constant need to entertain my clients. I’ve been cutting off hands, feet, and heads for so long and didn’t think anything of it because it was still a pretty picture. I’ve stopped doing that as much as I can and my images have instantly felt stronger. Along with a dozen other things I’ve been implementing in my work.

I learned not only basics that I was lacking, but how to harness my own eye and creativity. This industry is inundated with education; some good, some bad, and some better. This was the best of the best out of the thousands of dollars I’ve spent. There’s no point in knowing how to run a photography business if your photos don’t speak for themselves, and that’s where I felt like I was sitting. I didn’t think my photos were horrible, but I knew they could get better. I knew I was missing something that I couldn’t just learn on YouTube anymore, and this is exactly what I had been craving.

I’ve admired Anni’s work for years, and I have learned so much just in the free tips she puts out there, so I knew I wouldn’t regret learning from her. I am not exaggerating when I say my work has improved tremendously just from those free tips, so the course was so enlightening for me. She walks you through every single thing she talks about and shows you multiple examples of everything. Most educators in this industry teach everything about starting and running a business, about social media and marketing, about posing… but I have found that very few have ever focused JUST on the art behind a good photo, but Anni does. If you are drawn to her work in any way and don’t know how to turn that inspiration into your own unique work, this is for you.

My only regret is not taking advantage of the bundle deal when I bought the Composition course! Storytelling is next on my list, and I know that if you’re anything like me a few weeks ago and feel disconnected from your work, you won’t regret this either. If you want to uplevel your work and creativity, investing in Anni’s courses will not be a mistake! I would not be putting this much effort into this information if I didn’t genuinely believe that Anni’s education has changed my business for the better.

I used to be embarrassed about paying for education from other photographers, and I quickly realized how ludicrous that was because that’s the best way for me to improve my craft - to learn from people who are better than me and who I admire. People who have far more experience than me and who are so willing to share their insight. I am so thankful for Anni and her infinite wisdom! If we are not learning, we are not growing!!
